From the beach to the mountains

….It’s coming to pass in 2024

When I was a young 22, I vividly remember standing at the edge of some wooded foothills in Tennessee, saying to myself, “Someday I'm going to live in a place like this.” And here I am, at the threshold of that reality. I grew up on the beaches of Florida and spent these last 20 years here on the OBX beaches of North Carolina, but I've always had a deep longing and connection with the woods. There's something there that feels like home to me; the trees, the privacy, the animals.

Becky and I have been planning on moving to the North Carolina mountains ever since we met and it's finally coming true in the summer of 2024. The area we are looking at is about halfway between Asheville and Charlotte, and just a bit south of Boone. This will allow me to continue to perform weddings all over that region. Our dream is to find a house on about 10 acres of wooded land where we can make our own trails for adventures with the dogs and each other. I can smell the pines even now.

We currently have two trips scheduled out that way this October and November to ride around different areas with our realtor. We are so excited to make these trips during the colors of the fall season and begin to envision where we will land. The plan is to begin aggressively searching for the right place in the spring and make the move in July or August. In the meantime, I'm fully committed to booking new Outer Banks weddings through the end of June 2024, as well as booking weddings in the mountains before and after that. My website is actively ready for all inquiries! Filling out this simple Contact Form will help get you started.

If you happen to have any connections with wedding venues or planners in the Asheville/Charlotte/Boone area, I welcome any help in getting introduced. I've had a lot of inquiries on how this big change to the mountains came about, so I'm hoping this blog will help to give insight in our journey. The Outer Banks will forever hold a dear place in my heart, but it's you, the wonderful people that I've crossed paths with, that made it epic. Thank you does not begin to do that justice. Blessed beyond belief!
