Hidden Diamond on an Outer Banks Island
One of the most special 2020 weddings for me was Jill and Ryan’s in July. Two free spirits who found each other’s heart on a road trip that changed their lives forever. Jill and Ryan were married on the beach in Nags Head, but their reception and lodging was at a hidden gem called The Roanoke Bungalow. I have lived on the Outer Banks for 17 years, yet never knew this beautiful and intimate bed & breakfast existed until Jill and Ryan got married.
Here’s a sweet morsel from the Bungalow’s website: “Featured in the Roanoke Island Home & Garden Tour and the Holiday Tour of Homes, the Roanoke Bungalow is a newly renovated Arts & Crafts Bungalow, originally built in the 1930’s and home to the Owners’ mother’s family. Now a Manteo Bed & Breakfast Inn, it proudly features a Historical Plaque on the front of the home and offers two luxurious guest rooms for Roanoke Island visitors. Enjoy homemade from scratch cookies by a local baker ~ The Sweater-Box Confections ~ with varieties such as Lemon Lavender and Salted Chocolate Espresso Shortbread which are in the room & a beverage, which will be available on the deck all day, when you arrive at our Manteo Outer Banks guest cottage. Then walk to the historic waterfront district of Olde Town Manteo where you will find art galleries, antique shops, wonderful restaurants, gift boutiques & boat tours. A favorite local ice cream shop is right next door for a refreshing evening treat.”
The new wave in 2021 and 2022 is “micro weddings”, and if there ever was a perfect fit for that wave, it is The Roanoke Bungalow. It is ideal for intimate weddings with cozy landscaping and a private garden lawn in the back that can be featured with cafe lights and a massive farm table perfect for an alfresco dining reception with your closest family and friends. So awesome!
Cheryl and Cowboy, the owners of the Bungalow, are longtime friends of mine that I lost touch with over the years, and super happy to reconnect with them. Little did we know that after all those years we would be teaming together to make couples happy on their wedding day. I am very proud to be their friend and honored to be promoting their hidden jewel called The Roanoke Bungalow. If you are planning an intimate affair with every little detail attended to, look no further, this hidden diamond is THE spot! Ask about their all inclusive packages.
